Unemployment marginally down
Seasonally adjusted unemployment in the Netherlands stood at 395 thousand in March, i.e. 5 thousand below the level in February.
The decline can be attributed entirely to young people in the 25-44 age bracket. The number of unemployed in the 45-64 age bracket, on the other hand, rose marginally.
The unemployment rate in the Dutch labour force was 5.1 percent. With 5.2 percent, unemployment among women was still marginally higher than among men (5.0 percent), but the gap has narrowed continuously in recent months.
