Marginal recovery turnover courier service companies
Turnover of courier service companies was more than 2 percent higher in the fourth quarter of 2010 than in the fourth quarter of 2009. This is the first turnover growth since the global recession set in in the fourth quarter of 2008, but turnover is still far below the pre-crisis level. Over the entire year 2010, turnover declined by 1.5 percent.
Higher prices account for the turnover growth in the fourth quarter. The volume of turnover was the same as one year previously. Prices of courier services rose by an average of 2 percent in 2010. Turnover over 2010 declined, as a result of the slumping demand for courier services due to the global economic crisis.
