Slight improvement in terms of trade
The Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved slightly in September 2010 compared with September 2009. Prices of imported goods were 7.2 percent higher, prices of exported goods rose by 7.9 percent.
Higher prices for natural gas, petroleum derivatives, basic metals and chemical products contributed most to the increase in export prices in September. Import prices of these products were also much higher than one year previously, just as import prices of crude oil.
