Further decrease in job vacancies
After adjustment for seasonal effects, 113 thousand jobs were vacant at the end of March 2010, 11 thousand fewer than at the end of December. The number of vacancies fell by 6 thousand in the private sector and by 5 thousand in the public sector.
The labour market was less dynamic than one year previously. In the first quarter of 2010, 173 thousand new vacancies were created, i.e. 14 thousand down on twelve months previously. With 177 thousand, the number of filled vacancies clearly lagged behind the 221 thousand filled vacancies in the first quarter of 2009.
