Business services providers more optimistic about future turnover

In March, the number of business services providers expecting turnover to increase in the next three months easily outnumbered those expecting a decline. Optimists outnumbered pessimists by 25 percent, as against 18 percent in February. For the third month running, the percentage has risen relative to the preceding month.

In March, providers of business services were somewhat more negative about future employment in their branch than one month previously. On balance, 36 percent of employers indicated employment had declined over the past three months. The percentage is more or less the same as in the preceding months.

Business services providers were slightly less negative about the economic climate than one month previously. In March, on balance, 3 percent of providers of business services indicated the economic climate was deteriorating, as against 5 percent in February. Altogether, the mood has improved significantly over the past months.

Turnover in the sector business services can be affected by seasonal variation. These effects have not been taken into account.
