Personal capital on 1 January 2009

Statistics Netherlands has developed a new statistics on household capital based upon income tax data. In addition, other sources of information were used like data on deposits in bank accounts, possession of securities and WOZ value (estimated value of residential property).

Capital is defined as the value of all assets, e.g. other immovable property, deposits in bank and giro accounts, shares and bonds, corporate capital and other assets, including cash minus mortgage and other debts.
