Median as opposed to average personal capital

The distribution of personal capital across all households in the Netherlands is very uneven. A small number of households are very rich. The average personal capital of Dutch households is affected strong by a limited number of extremely wealthy households. The median amount defines households more accurately. The median household capital is defined as the middle one when all Dutch households are arranged in order from the poorest to the richest.

NB the median household debt is calculated on the basis of all households who have debts.
