Slower fall in manufacturing turnover
Manufacturing turnover was 21 percent lower in September than one year previously. Since June, each month the decrease in turnover has been slightly smaller than in the preceding month. Over half of September’s turnover decrease was the result of lower prices.
Turnover decreased across the board in September. With a loss of over 42 percent, the transport equipment sector was hit hardest. The smallest turnover loss was recorded in the food, drinks and tobacco sector and in electrical engineering products and machinery, both around 6 percent.
Compared with September 2008, turnover on the domestic and the foreign market fell by 18 and 24 percent respectively.
