Turnover decline cleaning service agencies
Cleaning service agencies faced a turnover loss of 1 percent in the second quarter of 2009 relative to the same quarter in 2008. Prices rose by 3 percent. This is the first downturn since 2004.
The economic recession has pushed down the demand for cleaning services. Agencies working for offices, hotels and the construction sector in particular were seriously affected by the economic crunch. Many office building are unoccupied and building companies lost turnover in the first six months of 2009.
Turnover cleaning service agencies
Agencies providing interior cleaning services account for three quarters of total turnover in the cleaning services industry. They realised a small turnover growth. Within the entire sector business services, cleaning agencies are performing fairly well. The sector business services as a whole lost 4 percent of its turnover relative to the second quarter of 2008.
