Employees under the labour and care act (Wet arbeid en zorg) are entitled to participate in the life course savings scheme. A participant in the scheme may have more than one account. On 31 December 2008 there were 271 thousand life course savings and life course insurance accounts. This spring, Statistics Netherlands published a provisional estimate of 270 thousand participants on the basis of data from the policy administration. Back to article
