645 firms bankrupt in July
In July this year, 645 businesses and institutions (excluding one-man businesses) were declared bankrupt, a decrease by more than 50 relative to June 2009. The number of bankruptcies has more than doubled compared to July 2008.
As the number of businesses declared bankrupt in a particular month is closely related to the number of days courts are in session, it may vary strongly from month to month. Therefore, the three-monthly moving average is a more reliable indicator.
The three-monthly moving average was 615 in July, the same as in June. The indicator more than doubled relative to July 2008.
