First results agricultural census 2009

The first results of the 2009 agricultural census show that the response in the arable farming sector (26,600 holdings altogether covering 609 thousand hectares of arable farmland) is not representative for the entire population. Data are corrected for this effect. The first estimate of agricultural areas is no more than an indication.

Currently (mid-July), data on the number of farms and crops are assumed to be inaccurate. The number of arable farms is estimated at more than 44 thousand in 2009.
