Provisions under the Social Support Act

The aim of the Social Support Act is to enable people to function independently and participate in society as long as possible. There are individual care facilities and aids available for citizens once they obtained a needs indication:
• Home help
• Provisions in the home, such as a stair lift, brackets, removing thresholds
• Wheel chair provisions
• Transport provisions such as a regional taxi pass, scoot mobile
• Disabled parking

The general provisions of the Social Support Act such as support for volunteer aids, care for drug addicts, support of community centres and women’s shelters are not included here.

The Social Support Act came into force on 1 January 2007 and is carried out at the municipal level.
