Wealth 2006

Statistics Netherlands has developed new statistics on wealth (equity). Data on wealth in 2006 were compiled with the aid of information from various sources, including the income tax administration. In addition, sources were used for data on bank balances, ownership of securities, and house values on the basis of the real estate appraisal act (WOZ). The framework for the survey is the Income Panel Survey.

Wealth (equity) is the value of assets such as the own home, other real estate, positive bank balances, securities such as shares, bonds etc., business capital and other assets including cash in hand, minus the mortgage debt on the own home, and other outstanding debts.
