Absolute turnover of the construction sector is based on extrapolation of the most recent turnover level from production statistics of the construction sector of 2006 with turnover results from short-term statistics up to and including 2008.

Construction turnover totalled approximately 75 billion euro in 2006. The growth rates for 2007 and 2008 were 9.8 and 9.9 percent respectively. If these growth rates are applied to the 2006 level, the resulting turnover level for 2008 approximates 91 billion euro.
