Number of companies

The number of companies as published by Statistics Netherlands is lower than the number published by the Chamber of Commerce. This is caused by differences in the definitions used. In addition, Statistics Netherlands does not publish figures on companies which are only marginally active. The two figures each have their own purpose and value for users.
