The figures on the relationship between children and their fathers is based on information from adults who look back on the family in which they grew up as a child. They either grew up in a two-parent family, or experienced the divorce of their parents at an early age. A number of them were also confronted with a stepparent. Contact is defined as the relationship between the child and the father: whether they got on, and whether and how often they argued.
