Since 1981, deposits of nitrogen and sulphur have diminished. Wet and dry deposits of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and ammonia (NHx) have been reduced from approximately 3,000 mol of nitrogen per ha in 1981 to approximately 2,200 mol in 2006. In the same period, sulphur dioxide deposits per ha dropped from approximately 2,800 mol to approximately 700 mol. The natural deposit level of these of eutrophying and acidifying substances is less than 120 mol per ha. In recent years, the deposit level of nitrogen and sulphur has been stable.
