Counting grid

In the Counting grid of wild forest mushrooms, a large number of volunteers annually count the fruitbodies of a selection of 110 mushroom species in fixed sample areas. The Dutch Mycological Society accounts for the fieldwork. Statistics Netherlands is responsible for data processing and the final analysis.

In 2003, nearly all species were extremely rare in number due to the very dry weather. Therefore, the year 2003 was excluded from the analysis. The graphs do not include species showing an uncertain trend.
