Average income
The average income is calculated as follows:
for each household, the disposable income is calculated, i.e. the gross income of all household members minus paid income transfers, premiums and taxes. This amount is subsequently adjusted for composition of the household and number of household members taking into account the number of adults and children by age.
This is termed standardised disposable household income, which is subsequently attributed to each of the household members.
For each municipality and province, the average of all standardised disposable household incomes of all residents is calculated and subsequently, the percentage difference with the nationwide average is calculated. People living in homes and institutions, the so-called institutional population, and student households are not taken into account.
