Type of education

This article refers to the following types of secondary education:
• vmbo: preparatory secondary vocational education. This type of education has four tracks: the basic vocational track, the advanced vocational track, the combined track and the theoretical track.
• havo: senior general secondary education
• vwo: pre-university education.

General secondary education (avo) is a collective term that covers the theoretical and combined tracks of vmbo, and havo and vwo.
