Higher prices boost manufacturing turnover
Dutch manufacturing turnover was nearly 13 percent higher in October than in the same month last year. Turnover growth on the domestic market virtually equalled that on the foreign market.
The increase in manufacturing turnover varies sharply from month to month, among other things as a result of price changes or differences in the working day patterns. The increase in October was largely accounted for by a strong increase in factory gate prices. These were almost 7 percent up on October 2006. Moreover, October had one working day more than last year. The positive effect of this on turnover growth is an estimated 3.5 percentage points.
