Courses and training schemes

These include activities that:
- are provided for a number of participants at the same time (participants may come from other companies);
- are nearly always provided at the place of work, e.g. in a course or training room;
- are characterised by a high degree of organisation by the instructor or the training institute (content, location, time).

The figures are taken from the 2005company training survey. This is a survey of participation of employees in company training courses and the costs involved. The survey is held in all countries of the European Union. Only private sector companies with at least ten employees are included in the survey.
