The emissions are calculated in compliance with the regulations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the so-called Kyoto Protocol. Emissions caused by combustion of biomass (wood, organic waste, but also biogas) are not included. Due to their short-cyclic presence in the atmosphere, these emissions do not contribute to an increase in CO2 concentration. With respect to N2O, emissions through biogenic processes in surface water are included.
