More than one thousand health and safety organisations in the Netherlands

More than one thousand organisations in the Netherlands were involved in health and safety at the workplace and employment reintegration in 2005. Together these institutions employed 17.7 thousand people. 
In 2005 they undertook 23 thousand studies of possible risks for heath, safety and well-being at work. They also performed 177 thousand health inspections of the workplace and 30 thousand medical examinations prior to employment. Company doctors corresponded with, spoke to or examined employees who were absent from work nearly 3 million times. Health and safety experts communicated with employees 313 thousand times in relation to conditions in the workplace.
