Biomassa combustion in power stations
Biomass combustion refers to the use of biomass as fuel in power stations, together with conventional fossil fuels, like coal and/or natural gas. Examples of biomass fuels are rest products of wood and palm oil.
The sustainability of certain types of biomass is a widely debated public issue. In this article, all types of biomass are counted, because the data and generally accepted operational criteria required for an evaluation of the sustainability of biomass are as yet not available.
