Supply costs
Supply costs are to be paid to the power company for the amount of energy gas/electricity consumed. A distinction is made between:
1. Fixed supply costs (standard fee): the standard fee is a monthly, quarterly or annual amount to be paid by the consumer. Power supply companies are at liberty to impose a standard fee.
2. Variable supply costs: these costs are consistent with the amount of m³ or kWh consumed annually.
3. Since 1 January 2005, a surcharge is imposed in addition to the cubic metre price for transport of gas over the national gas grid owned by the Gasunie. The Gasunie is responsible for management, operation and development of the national gas distribution grid. The further a consumer lives from Groningen (where the head office is located), the higher the transport costs.
