Early retirement

The results on early retirement refer to all working people aged between 55 and 65 years who were not working one year later, whether or not they received a pension or pre-pension. People who died or emigrated in the course of the year are also included.

The data in this article are from the social statistics database (SSB). The SSB contains integral data on persons, jobs and social security benefits in the Netherlands. The date of reference is the last Friday in September. People who retired in 2004 had a job on the last Friday of September 2003, and  did not have a job on the last Friday in September 2004.
