Continuous fall in number of bankruptcies
In August this year almost 350 businesses and institutions (excluding one-man businesses) went bankrupt. This is 13 percent fewer than in August 2005. In July, the number of bankruptcies was just over 320, 17 percent down on July 2005.
As the number of businesses declared bankrupt in a particular month also depends on the number of days courts are in session, it may vary strongly from month to month. Therefore, the three-month average is a more reliable indicator. In August, this average stood at 340, continuing the downward trend. The number of bankruptcies has now reached its lowest point for the last four years.
