Companies

The article refers to companies in the sectors trade, industry and services, which are registered at a Chamber of Commerce. New companies in agriculture and fishery, financial institutions, public administration and the subsidised sector are excluded.
The registration of a company does not necessarily mean it is economically active. At the moment of registration about half of newly registered companies are active, i.e. at least one person works for the company for at least 15 hours a week. Some companies will never become active, for example companies who register to protect a name.
