Road traffic death toll

The figures presented in this article refer to persons entered in the municipal population registers who died in traffic accidents on Dutch roads. The figures are based on information from the death certificates. 

In cooperation with the Transport research Centre (AVV), Statistics Netherlands publishes data on road traffic deaths in the Netherlands. Consequently, the figures include tourists visiting the Netherlands who died on Dutch roads. Various sources are used to compile this statistics.
