Obesity:

Persons with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher.

The BMI gives an estimation of the health risk of the bodyweight. The BMI is calculated by dividing the bodyweight in kilograms by the square of the height in metres. Seriously overweight or obese adults are those with a BMI of 30 or higher.

Insufficient physical exercise:

Adults comply with the Dutch national standard for healthy exercise  if they undertake some form of moderately intensive activity (e.g. walking briskly, cycling) for at least half an hour a day on at least five days a week.

Heavy smoking:

People who smoke at least 20 cigarettes a day.

Excessive alcohol consumption:

People who drink 6 or more glasses of alcohol in one day, at least once a week.
