Unemployment fell further
Dutch unemployment fell further. The seasonally adjusted unemployment figure in February-April 2006 was almost 2 percent lower than in the period January–March 2006. An average of 447 thousand people was unemployed. This is equal to 6.0 percent of the labour force.
Dutch unemployment started falling after the third quarter of 2005. Within a period of seven months unemployment has decreased with 60 thousand. The decrease follows after a long period of rather stable unemployment.
February-April 2006 counted 67 thousand less unemployed people than a year before. Unemployment was lower in all age categories.
