Unemployment fell further
Dutch unemployment fell further. The seasonally adjusted unemployment figure in January-March 2006 was almost 3 percent lower than in the period December 2005–February 2006. There were 460 thousand people unemployed. This is equal to 6.2 percent of the labour force.
Dutch unemployment falls since the fourth quarter of 2005. Last half year unemployment fell by about 10 percent. The decrease follows after a long period of stable unemployment.
The first quarter counted 56 thousand less unemployed people than a year before. Especially unemployment among men aged 15-44 and women aged 25-44 was lower.
