Compagnies better off in foreign hands?

Dutch companies in foreign hands performed better in the period 1990-2000 than Dutch companies without foreign control.

More turnover, capital and employees

Companies in the sectors industry, trade, transport and services with a foreign mother company, increased their share in total turnover, total capital and employee numbers by five to ten percent.

Turnover shares for companies with foreign mother company

Nearly half of turnover in the trade sector was generated by companies established in the Netherlands but under foreign control. The proportion was smaller for the sectors manufacturing, transport, storage and communications, and services .
