House prices stable
House prices in the Netherlands have risen hardly at all in the last six months. From 1998 to August 2000 the average house price rose by just over 1,800 euro a month. Since then it has hardly risen at all, fluctuating around 180,000 euro.
The average price of an apartment has been hovering around 130,000 euro since September 2000. One family houses cost on average just over 195,000 euro.
House prices
Gooi region most expensive
Houses in the Gooi region (between Utrecht and Amsterdam) cost on average 285,000 euro. In Delfzijl (in the north-east of the province of Groningen) this average is 90,000 euro. The large differences are caused by among other things the location of the region and large regional differences in construction. An average one-family house in the Gooi region looks completely different compared with one in Delfzijl. Prices in Delfzijl and surrounding area are slightly lower than in the Zeeuws-Vlaanderen region in the south-west of the country.
