Description topics

Enterprises total
Pronounced bankruptcies of single-owner companies and other legal
persons.
Single-owner companies
Pronounced bankruptcies of natural persons who have their own
company (without separate capital) or owned such a company prior to
their bankruptcy. The natural person is responsible for all actions and
financial matters of the company.
It should be noted that it is possible for more than one person to be
employed within the company.
Since 1 January 2007, the CBS uses a new register of companies for
distinction of the legal form. This way, the distinction between
single-owner companies and natural persons can be made more accurately.
This has resulted in a shift as of January 2007 from single-owner
companies to natural persons, compared to previous years.
Other legal persons
Pronounced bankruptcies of all kinds of legal persons as: public
cooperations, partnerships, societies and foundations, Ltd. and other
foreign legal persons.
If partnership firms or limited partnerships go bankrupt, the
participating partners will also be declared bankrupt.
Even though the bankruptcy is generally pronounced in one sentence, the
participating partners are included separately in the relevant legal form.
Partners can be both natural persons as well as legal persons. Legal
persons who are partner of a bankrupt partnership firm or limited
partnership are included in the category "other legal persons".
