CBS Urban Data Centre/Leidschendam-Voorburg

The Urban Data Centre in Leidschendam-Voorburg was launched on 31 August 2017. By combining and analysing knowledge and data of CBS, the municipality and partner organisations, Leidschendam-Voorburg will gain more insight into local and regional developments. The municipality will therefore be better able to adapt municipal policies to local needs.

The municipality has made two commitments in this respect:

• To make policies more effective by smart use of data;
• To increase awareness among municipal employees of the importance of data and analysis.

The first objective is related to insights gained through research. What does the municipality do with the results? To what extent will the measures adopted in response to the study lead to a more effective and/or efficient policy? The second objective relates to raising ‘data awareness’, ‘data maturity’ and data-driven working among municipal employees.
