Statistics Netherlands (CBS) monitors population trends in the Caribbean Netherlands, also on Saba.
The population grew by 89 thousand in 2024, mainly due to immigration. More than thirteen times as many people from outside the island came to live here than the number of babies (15) born.

If we look at the period between 2011-2016, we see that the largest group of immigrants arrived from North America and in second place were immigrants from Central and South America.

When data on a growing or declining population is available, it helps in deciding whether to plan for capacity in hospitals, homes for the elderly and daycare centers.
