A time series, corrected for breaks and underestimation, of the number of vacancies in the Netherlands, 1946-1996
Initially, the statistics of the number of vacancies was based on information from employment offices. Because there were indications that this statistics increasingly underestimated the actual number of vacancies, it was discontinued in 1986 and succeeded in 1988 by a statistics based on Statistics Netherlands’ own observations. In this paper, a long time series is presented that matches the current time series in StatLine and has been corrected for the break in 1988 and for the underestimation that has been identified.
