The effect of a new survey design for the Labour Force Survey on the monthly labour force figures.
Since 2010, Statistics Netherlands has published figures on the Dutch labour force on a monthly basis. This is done using a structural time series model. The estimates are based on data collected via the Dutch Labour Force Survey. In 2021 the sample design and the fieldwork strategies of this survey were changed. This publication describes the effects of this redesign on the outcomes of the monthly labour force figures and how this is dealt with in the estimation methodology.
