Time series modelling of mobility trends, 1999-2020
Using multilevel time-series models for estimation of mobility trends.
The Dutch Travel Survey is an annual sample survey used to compile statistics about mobility of residents of the Netherlands. This survey has undergone several redesigns. In earlier reports, a multilevel time-series model has been developed to estimate mobility trends at a detailed level by person and journey characteristics, accounting for discontinuities due to redesigns. In this paper, the model is further improved and extended with 2020 data, as well as with effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
