Estimation of antenatal care coverage in Bangladesh
Estimating antenatal care coverage in Bangladesh using multilevel time series models on low regional levels
This paper describes a methodology to estimate annual figures of antenatal and maternity care utilization in Bangladesh at low regional levels. The method is based on a hierarchical Bayesian multilevel time series model that is fitted using MCMC simulations. The inputs to the model are data obtained through the Bangladesh Health Survey conducted at three or four year intervals. In addition, Census data available at 10-year intervals is used. The model makes interpolations for the years for which no survey or census data are available.
