A MIP approach for a generalised data editing problem
A mixed-integer programming formulation is presented of automatic error localisation with general edit operations.
The error localisation problem amounts to finding the erroneous fields in a record of data. We present a mixed-integer programming formulation of automatic error localisation with general edit operations. A prototype implementation of an error localisation tool was created in R. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the approach for a production setting and show that a wide range of errors can be identified.
