A report of an analysis of the time intervals between earthquakes in Groningen, related to the gas production, commissioned by State Supervision of Mines. A Weibull distribution is used to assess whether the earthquakes can be considered as independent events, which turns out not to be the case.
This is research carried out commissioned by State Supervision of Mines, into the effects of gas production on earthquakes in Groningen which has resulted in a report. This report describes the statistics of the time intervals between earthquakes and changes in those statistics, as well as relating these trends to gas production, together with the relevant statistical evidence and support.
