A study of car ownership among young workers and students.
Which factors influence car ownership among young adult students and workers with a driving licence? Car ownership among 18 to 29-year-olds is now lower than ten years ago. Literature on this topic provides a range of explanations for the decrease in car ownership among young people. This study analyses the interdependent effects of several characteristics by means of descriptive and multivariate logistic regression models.
This study differentiates between young people in education and those in employment. The following characteristics were examined: driving licence ownership, age, gender, degree of urbanisation, household composition, presence of cars in the household, income and ethnicity.
