Limited goods trade with Bulgaria
The Netherlands imported 344 million euros worth of goods from Bulgaria in 2011, 76 percent more than in 2010. Dutch goods exports to Bulgaria in 2011 reached a level of 526 million euros, 9 percent up on 2010. Bulgaria’s share in Dutch goods trade in 2011 was a mere 0.1 percent for imports as well as exports. It has been at this level since Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007.

Oleiferous seeds account for most of increase in imports
In 2011 Dutch imports of Bulgarian goods increased by 150 million euros (+76 percent) on 2010. The increase was accounted for by higher imports of oleiferous seeds, mainly sunflower seeds, coleseed and rapeseed. There was also a slight increase in imports of food, chemicals, manufactured goods and machines.

Exports: over half a billion euros in 2011
Dutch goods exports to Bulgaria increased by 45 million euros (+9 percent) in 2011. More machines, particularly road tractors, and chemical products were exported to Bulgaria.
