In the youngest age group, too, unemployment fell. In the period February- April 2007, 83 thousand youngsters were unemployed, 10 thousand fewer than one year previously. The youth unemployment rate fell from 11.5 to 9.9 percent.
For the over-45s unemployment fell by 7 thousand people to 131 thousand. This is 4.6 percent of the 45-64 year-old labour force.
