What is enforcement exactly?

The Statistics Netherlands Act sets out that CBS is unconditionally authorised to make use of existing governmental registries. In addition, CBS may also use non-government registries financed (in part) by public funds or fees. CBS uses these existing registries whenever possible. If this is not sufficient, CBS can oblige companies to submit data for statistical purposes. The CBS Data Acquisition Decree provides for which institutions and legal entities may be requested to submit data and which data must be supplied.
