A person has basic digital skills in the area of digital information literacy and online communication, if this individual is able to perform at least one activity in this area. In the other three areas (computers and online services, privacy protection, and use of software), a person has basic digital skills if this person is able to perform one or two activities within these areas.
A person has above basic digital skills if two or more activities are performed in the areas of digital information literacy and online communication. People need to perform three or more activities in the other three areas to fall into the category of more than basic digital skills within these areas.
